Hats, Scarves, Gloves, & Mittens
As the temperatures quickly change from hot summer scorchers to crisp autumn days, it reminds us of the needs that come with the changing seasons. That’s why it is not too soon to begin knitting and crocheting winter wear for our neighbors at Holloway Elementary School.
Just as was done last year, we will collect hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens for children at Holloway who might not have the warm winter wear they need.
Last year we were fortunate to have three groups that FBC members belonged to who contributed to this effort. A condominium association opted to buy items for this project in lieu of a gift exchange and two senior centers put their knitters and crocheters to work with the end result being dozens of warm, winter-wear for the children.
A box will be in the narthex soon to collect items.
