Garden Park Church Comes to First Baptist

We are pleased to announce that, beginning on July 11, Garden Park Christian Church will hold worship services in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church at 11:30 am.  We thought it might be helpful to let you know the beliefs and faith statements of GPCC.  We believe that we are compatible as brothers and sisters in Christ and are praying that God blesses our cohabitation.  It is our hope that we will share space in a manner that allows both congregations to glorify the name of the Lord and show the world the grace of God in Jesus Christ.

“Garden Park Christian Church is a community of people who believe that all people are made by God to belong to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

Our purpose is to know Christ and make Him known through

                     our worship of His person,

                     our obedience to His will,

                     our dependence upon His power,

our service within His church, and

                     our outreach to the world.”

WHO WE ARE

Garden Park identifies with a movement of Christian Churches around the world that desire to restore Biblical Christianity. This movement is not a denomination and we do not think of ourselves as another Protestant church. Individually and collectively we call ourselves “Christians”, seeking unity among all people who name Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.

Garden Park is an independent church, led by our elders. We are not controlled by any denominational hierarchy or headquarters. We are self-governed by a voluntary group of elders, who are nominated by the adult members of the church. These men oversee the spiritual well-being of the people and ministries within the church.

God designs everything for a purpose. The Bible makes this clear in the way it describes and depicts the Church. The family and the Church are designed in such a way that the healthy operation of each reinforces and contributes to the life of the other. Within a marriage and in the home, God’s design is for the man to be the spiritual head of the union.

Within God’s family – the church – God’s design is for older and spiritually mature men to exercise servant leadership in a position of authority over the Church.
