Ascension Sunday and Graduate Recognition

We will celebrate our Graduates at our June 1 worship service.

It is appropriate to celebrate graduation on Ascension Sunday. On that day Jesus commissioned the Church and sent us into the world with command to bless the world and share the gospel. Ascension Sunday was not the graduation of Jesus, but of the Church. When Jesus rose to heaven, the Church was deemed ready to act as the body of Christ and to minister in His name.

It is important to remember that this commencement (beginning) and sending of the Church was not the final word in our preparation.  After days of prayer, the Holy Spirit lit upon the Church at a moment in which preparation met inspiration. On that day, with the power of the Holy Spirit with us, the Church was ready to serve.

This year we celebrate the graduation of Kyler Norman.

Kyler Norman graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School.  He played Varsity Hockey and Football.  He loves all food (as long as it’s not seafood). He plans to play more hockey after high school and possibly join the military. Kyler is the son of Joyce Norman.

Kyler has accomplished the work of school, yet the work of life is just beginning.  We appreciate his accomplishments and look forward to a ministry that is just beginning.
