Mission to Appalachia Parent & Youth Meeting March 14 |
|
We are holding a very important parent and youth informational meeting on March 14 at 1 PM in Fellowship Hall at the church concerning our Mission to Appalachia, July 18 to 25, 2010. In this meeting we will provide the trip itinerary, requirements, fund raising plans and more. Some of this information can already be found here on our website. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions. If your youth is even curious about this trip, we ask that you attend. This meeting is a prerequisite to go on the trip. If you have a prior commitment, please contact Scott Weaver personally so that a time can set up to meet and discuss the trip and our plans. We also have a letter that went out to parents regarding the trip and that can be found HERE. We have a web page devoted to our mission trip and that can be found HERE.

First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo Youth |

Start planning now to be a part of our first Lock In of the year! We kick things off at 9 PM after the children's Boredom Buster evening. We'll have the regular 5th Quarter events plus movies, a midnight photo scavenger hunt challenge around the entire church facility and a great pancake breakfast (that we will cook ourselves, of course!). What do you need to bring? You must have a 2010 Waiver and Medical Form on file (if you filled one out for Blaze, you do not need a new one). Forms can always be found by clicking "Forms" on the menu. Bring a sleeping bag and pillow and any games you might want to play.

"Pastor on the Hot Seat" Returns March 19 |
|
Our very popular "Pastor on the Hot Seat" returns for our next edition on Friday, March 19 at 5th Quarter. Pastor Dan Bellavia, Senior Pastor at First Baptist will answer your questions.
In February, questions included: How can God be everywhere at the same time (the Santa Claus question)? How is God Jesus and how is God the Holy Spirit at the same time (think of an egg - three parts of one)? And . . . a discussion of God in the "NOW" - is the man measuring the temple in Ezekiel 40:20 and 42:15 (Old Testament) the same man measuring the temple in Revelation 11:1 (New Testament)? In January, great questions were asked including - "Can you wait too long to ask for forgiveness?" Check out our Facebook discussion page if you want to add some questions or just ask them at 5th Quarter! Come and join the fun! |
|
We've been collecting supplies to give away for a few months now to help out with the Food for Thought program. We will be taking those to the Food for Thought ministry in March. We will meet at the church early to head over as a group . . . plan now to be a part of this great service event!

Mission Trip Recipe Book Fundraiser |
|

As one of our major fundraisers for this summer’s youth Mission to Appalachia, we are creating a First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo recipe book. We are now collecting recipes for the book which we will begin putting together in February with a goal of completion by mid-March. If you have a recipe you would like to submit, you may download the recipe submission form HERE. It is important that you use the submission form so that we have everything in the proper format for the books. This spring we will feature a special “Recipe Book Potluck” where everyone will have the opportunity to sample creations from the new cookbook.
