THANKSGIVING EVE
SERVICE
Wednesday, November 21 at 7 PM
This year, our Thanksgiving Eve service on November 21
will be a little different than in the past. We have invited our brothers and
sisters from Ashland Church to join us as they depart soon to begin worshipping
at their new facility in Oregon, Ohio. We will join together in our sanctuary to
celebrate the two years we have shared together and the blessings that have been
bestowed on each of us. We have much to be thankful for and together we will
raise the cup of blessing. It will be a time of testimony, of celebration and
thanksgiving with communion. This will be followed by the sharing of dessert in
Fellowship Hall. As Ashland will be joining us as our honored guests, we will
need volunteers to help provide desserts for our shared worship and fellowship
time! Plan now to begin the holiday season in this special time – the worship
part of the evening lasts only 45 minutes so there is plenty of time to return
home and prepare for the next day!
Thanksgiving Eve Service
2002
It was a worship experience people have come to look forward too.
It has grown over the years and become an increasingly meaningful part of our
congregation's life.
We met in candlelight around tables in the Fellowship Hall. There was music, Scripture, and the opportunity to share Thanksgiving blessings. Following the 45 minute worship part of the evening everyone stayed and shared in a time of fellowship and enjoyed a piece of pie.
You may have a lot of preparation waiting for you at home to prepare your own Thanksgiving feast but this is a time apart, a respite, a brief worship experience that will create in you a spirit of blessedness and peace for the day ahead.
Join us next year if you missed this one!
Good Shepherd Thanksgiving Offering 2002
$720 in food certificates were presented from First
Baptist Church of Greater Toledo to Reverend Alberto Martinez for the
people of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Twelve turkeys were also
given to Good Shepherd families. We thank you for your generous
support and look forward to also being able to help Good Shepherd families
this Christmas (see story above for more information).

Thanksgiving Eve Service
2001
It was another beautiful service in the
candlelight in Fellowship Hall. As the air was filled with praise
and Thanksgiving, desserts were prepared for a fellowship time following
the service. Everyone involved enjoyed the first event of the
holiday season. Good Shepherd
Thanksgiving Offering 2001 $600
in food certificates were presented to the Reverend Alberto Martinez for
the people of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Twelve turkeys were also
given for Good Shepherd families. We thank you for your generous
support and look forward to also being able to help Good Shepherd families
at Christmas.
THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE
7 PM
Whatever kind of year we have experienced, we search on Thanksgiving for those ways in which we are
able to raise the cup of blessing. At First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo our Thanksgiving Holiday and the beginning of our holiday season starts with the lighting of candles, communion, a time of sharing and dessert at our annual Thanksgiving Eve Service. It is a beautiful service which takes place in the fellowship hall. The worship part of the evening only lasts 45 minutes so there is plenty of time to return home and prepare for the next day.
If you have never attended this service we invite you to join those worshipers who have
annually made this service the beginning of their holiday season. |
