News from our Night Light Small Group meeting on April 23, 2008:

NEW SCHEDULE
We have decided to go with our new schedule (listed above and below) to allow more time for fellowship and dinner, rehearsal for the band and to allow those who are coming from work to arrive in enough time to eat with us!

THEMED DINNERS
We are tentatively working with a themed meal schedule as well:
1st Wednesday - Chef's Choice • 2nd Wednesday - Breakfast at Dinner (Breakfast foods)
3rd Wednesday - Chef's Choice  • 4th Wednesday - POTLUCK

SUMMER DINNERS
We plan to move outside for worship beginning on June 18.  Our meal will be grilled and we are planning to offer a simple meal of hamburgers and hot dogs each Wednesday throughout the summer.  Propane has been donated and so has a "Grill Master Extraordinaire" who will grill up the goodies each Wednesday.  Our last outdoor service will be on September 3 (the Wednesday before Rally Day). 

EVENT CONFLICTS

• On May 28th we will attend the Dinner Theater Dress Rehearsal.  There will still be a potluck that evening, but we will remain in Fellowship Hall to watch the final rehearsal.
• During Vacation Bible School Week August 3 to 7 we are asking the Spiritual Development TEAM in consultation with the Pastor's to present an "Adult VBS" program at the same time the children and youth are involved in their VBS.  That way, the Wednesday service will be a part of the ongoing series that week.
• November 26th is Thanksgiving Eve and the regular Thanksgiving Eve Service will be held in place of our regular Night Light service.
• December 31st will be cancelled - for obvious reasons, but also because our Outreach TEAM is planning a formal banquet (an "adult prom" as we have been affectionately referring to it) for New Years Eve.
• February 25, 2009 - Ash Wednesday - the Ash Wednesday service was received very well and the opinion at the time was that everyone would like to have a similar service for 2009. 

OVERALL OPINION OF HOW THINGS ARE GOING
We agree that there is a great foundation for growth on Wednesday nights.  We have fellowship opportunities, great music, a great children's program and a lively atmosphere and a group focused on outreach.  It is now time to reach out to those around us and invite them to join us on Wednesdays.  Growth can happen, but it is up to all of us!
