Back 2 School Bash
First Annual Back 2 School Bash A BIG Hit!September, 2008
The Back 2 School Bash was an overall success for the first year! Nine churches participated, and an estimated 500 school-aged children attended the event. There were some hiccups in the process and much to be improved upon for next year, but I believe it was a wonderful outreach to the greater Toledo community and certainly worth the effort that we put forth.
Friends and members of First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo contributed 153 complete school supply packages for middle school students, plus several cases of additional supplies of paper, notebooks, folders, book bags, and miscellaneous items. We received a number of school supply packages from individuals, but the bulk of our contributions came as the result of several monetary gifts from groups and individuals within our congregation (roughly $1100 total!).
