Recital Report

On Sunday night, July 11, we held a special night at First Baptist.  It was our first "Potluck and Recital." The evening featured the talents of our children.  We enjoyed great piano solos, duets, solo vocals, acting and a wonderful violin piece.  Our youth actively supported this event as well lending their talents and showcasing what the future could hold for our children.  It was a wonderful and uplifting night and at the conclusion, all of our participants were presented with a rose by our interim Music Director Sylvia Loe.  All ready the children have asked "when are we going to do this again?"  We hope to have an answer soon . . .

Children's Boredom Buster Report

Our children's ministry kicked off summer in a fun way on June 25.  We held a youth-led "Children's Boredom Buster" which featured an evening of games, food and fun.  We roasted marshmallows by the fire and our youth led in a story time about "unexpected heroes" such as Old Testament story of the servant girl who helped Naaman.  The weather was perfect.  It was cool and calm which meant that we all had a wonderful time enjoying the great outdoors.  This was an answer to prayer after all of the recent storms and hot weather.  Thank you to all of our volunteers and chaperones! We have events for children throughout the year.  Check the calendar or the Children's Ministry page for more information about upcoming children's events!

Kidrama Wednesday Nights

Wednesday Family Nights during the school year are extra special for our children's program.  We feature a drama and music workshop called "Kidrama."  We meet each Wednesday night following the potluck at around 6:30 PM.  Our children learn techniques for presenting drama through worship and special programs.  "Kidrama" presents several special productions throughout the year including our Harvest Festival, Christmas Potluck and Program, Valentine's Banquet, Easter week activities and Children's Sunday.

Daniel's Den

What is Daniel’s Den?

Daniel’s Den is a specific and important part of our overall program for children that takes place during the worship hour following the Children’s Talk in the sanctuary.  Our children are expected to attend worship with their parents and then they will be dismissed for Daniel’s Den.

Daniel’s Den is not meant to be an intensive Bible time nor is it a worship time (such as Children’s Church).   Most of our children attend Sunday School and all attend worship up until the time they are dismissed following the Children’s Talk.  Having another in-depth Bible time would be counter-productive in this environment.

Daniels’ Den Mission Statement
As a part of our Children’s Ministry at First Baptist, Daniel’s Den utilizes organized, spiritual play, creative projects and relationship-building activities to build strong fellowship among our three year olds through first graders.
