Rally Day & Schedule Changes
Our new Sunday schedule begins on September 12 with a Sunday School Rally Day kick off at 9 AM followed by our Fellowship Time at 10 AM. Worship begins at 10:30 AM followed by a special Rally Day picnic. Hot dogs and tableware will be provided! Bring a side dish to share. We have a special pie-eating challenge as Senior Pastor Dan Bellavia takes on Minister of Christian Family Education Scott Weaver and Church President Mark Suffron. Don't miss out on all of the fellowship and fun!
Wednesday Family Night
Our Wednesday evening is a time to gather with the family at FBC! We begin with a potluck at 6 PM (bring a dish to share). At 7 PM, we have activities for all ages. Our children are involved in Kidrama, youth in Dramatix and adults can join Pastor Dan for a study on "Christ in Culture." Our Chancel Choir and Praise Band also rehearse during the 7 PM hour. At 8 PM, we gather back in the sanctuary for a celebration time with a dismissal at 8:30 PM. Join us this Wednesday night for "Family Night at FBC!"
5th Quarter This Friday
It's FREE and it's for all youth 6th to 12th grade! 5th Quarter Friday's at First Baptist are open to all youth and their friends. The church will be open 7:30 PM until 11 PM. FREE Pizza, ping pong, WII, Rock Band and and more. To find out more see Robbie, Ashley or talk to Pastor Scott!
Chicken Barbeque September 19
The 28th Annual First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo Chicken Barbeque is almost here! We are looking forward to the biggest and the best Chicken BBQ ever!! It will take many people working together to make this happen. Volunteers are the heart of a project such as the Chicken BBQ and we hope you will be willing to help. September 19 is the big day as we kick things off at 11:30 AM with chicken sales until 6 PM (or until we run out - whichever comes first!). Donation: $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for children aged 6 to 12 years old with children 5 & under FREE. $4.00 for ½ chicken only (no sides). You may dine in with air conditioned comfort in our two dining rooms or use our express drive up and carry out. Want to help out in this big effort? Contact Ralph Pearsall or Terry Stockner.
Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat LIVE at FBC!
First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo presents a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Saturday, Oct 2nd at 3:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday, Oct 3rd at 6:30 PM. Tickets are only $7 and may be purchased by calling Betsy Bellavia at 419-205-5801. Tickets will be available beginning September 20th. Make checks payable to First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo. We are still looking for singers for the chorus, costumers, set painters, ticket sellers, and back stage workers! Come on out and be part of this exciting event! Notes from the Choir Loft
Yes, the calendar says it is September. School begins, fall is right around the corner, new programs begin on TV and let’s get right down to it, IT IS TIME FOR CHOIRS TO BEGIN! Chancel Choir rehearses from 7 to 8 PM as a part of our Wednesday evening activities. This is an hour earlier than last year! Hopefully, some of the new changes will encourage some new participants in the music programs. The children will continue to meet on Sunday mornings during the service and Inspirations will meet at varied times. The choir & praise group will begin on Wednesday, September 8th. If you have any questions about any of the groups, please see Sylvia, Joanna or Betsy. We are all hopeful that we have returning starters and some new “walk-ons”. God loves a cheerful musician, vocal or instrumental. Help us make joyful sounds!!! Sylvia
FBC Shirts On Sale Now!
We are selling FBC tee shirts and polo shirts just in time for the Chicken BBQ. We have several styles to choose from with limited sizes and quantity. All shirts are navy blue with the NEW church logo on the front left chest. We have ladies' cut t-shirts, sizes for children and more! The cost of a polo is $12 and the t-shirts are $10. Get yours before your size is gone!
Women's Organization News
WOMEN’S ORGANIZATION will be making some changes for this coming year. Our first meeting will be the THIRD SATURDAY in October. Also, we will be returning to the morning brunch. New booklets will be distributed with details. Let’s make this next year a successful year! Les Femme Meetings
Les Femmes next meeting is on Friday, September 17th at 5:30pm. We'll be meeting at Bravo’s Restaurant at Westfield Franklin Park. Les Femme welcomes all single, divorced, or widowed ladies who would enjoy a social event of food, fun and fellowship. If you plan to attend please let Jan Swantusch, 419/351-2097 know.
