GRADUATE RECOGNITION
Sunday, June 10, 2007 - 10:30 AM
Some of the most active members of our congregation have been our
graduates. On Graduate Recognition Sunday, you can join other members of First Baptist in thanking them by being present for worship as they lead us and share with us the meaning of their faith during their high school years. This is always an inspiring Sunday.
Also, on this Sunday gifts will be presented to each of our graduates and the Pathfinder Scholarship Award will be presented.
Pathfinders Scholarship 2007 Report
Two
scholarships were awarded to FBC youth, Jacqueline Zureich and Wesley Sistrunk
this year on Graduate Recognition Sunday in June. The fund received monies
in honor of the Ingle-Coley wedding in June, from present and former Pathfinders
Class members and others who attended the event. Watch for fund raising
event news in the coming months. Your participation is a must to continue this
great Pathfinders First Baptist tradition. Looking for a way to honor a
special event? Consider a donation to the Scholarship Fund. To all who
support the Scholarship Fund, a most sincere thank you!
PATHFINDERS SCHOLARSHIP
Each
year we award the Pathfinders Scholarship on Youth & Graduation Sunday in June.
Applicants for the scholarship must be active members of First Baptist in
good standing, including support and participation of church programs and
functions.
Qualifications for the scholarship include:
• Commitment to Christ through service to First Baptist
• Christian service to the community
• Scholarship
Applications may
be obtained in the church office and must be returned no later than May 31,
accompanied by a letter of acceptance from an accredited college or
university, an official transcript, and two letters of recommendations.
Applications received without full documentation – especially unofficial
transcripts – will be declined.
Anyone selected to
receive an award should plan to be present Youth Sunday or have a
representative accept the award.
Donations to the scholarship fund are always accepted and appreciated in
furthering this ministry to the youth of First Baptist.
