FRIENDSHIP SUNDAY 2002 REPORT
Sunday, October 13, 2002

Friendship Sunday
We sailed the Friendship Cruise Line on the SS Philios!  On board we found many different activities including studies of the ports of call, a worship service with the Toledo Campus Ministry Choral, the Doo-Wop Girls join us from the SS Miss B Haven, and games were played on board along with prizes and a giant buffet featuring a pig roast.

Toledo Campus Ministry Chorale
We were pleased to welcome back to our church The Toledo Campus Ministry Chorale. They sang in our worship service as part of our Friendship Sunday, October 13. They bring to our worship the finest in contemporary Christian music. Members of the chorale are all students at the University of Toledo.

Toledo Campus Ministry is sponsored by eight denominations and is an ecumenical presence on the campus serving students, faculty and administration. We are very proud to be a part of this ministry under the direction of The Rev. Dee Baker. Join us to warmly welcome this group to our church on Friendship Sunday.

Open House & Dedication: Celebrating The Vision
Sunday, October 14, 2001

One of the guiding principles for Friendship Sunday has been Psalm 122:1, "I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the House of the Lord.'"

Friendship Sunday in 2001 fell on the same Sunday as the dedication of our expanded and remodeled sanctuary.

During this period in our lives perhaps one of the best things we can do is to be an inviting people, who upon wide the doors of the church so that all may find here words that are eternal and speak of God's Love and encouragement, so that "whosoever will may come."

On October 14, 2001, we combined Friendship Sunday and the dedication of the new sanctuary. A marvelous committee worked on the event including Mr. Tim Woo-Lun as chairman.
