It’s the 1940s in Metro City. We meet Detective Pips Domino in the local
jazz club “Beelze Pub” as he is on the trail of an elusive mob boss.
Danger is at every turn. A couple of bumbling thugs working for the boss
threaten the local residents. Will Pips find the boss before it’s too
late? Will he figure out the diabolical plan? Find out during our
original play “The Legend of Pips Domino: Life is More than a
Roll of the Dice” in our Spring 2006 FBC Dinner Theater Production.
2006 Dinner Theater Report
There were four shows this
year, three with dinner being served and one with just desserts served.
We had a total of 258 in
attendance, including volunteers.
FINANCES:
Income: $ 2,729
Expenses: $ 2,175
$554 was carried over to
the Dinner Theater Account for future productions.
The average meal cost was
$4.08 per meal. This includes paper products, etc.
KITCHEN VOLUNTEERS:
Norma Jean Smoot, Jan Swantusch, Laurie Sistrunk and Gail Black were the
cooks. The desserts were purchased from Sam’s Club. Our cooks did a
wonderful job providing delicious meals at a low cost. Thank you ladies.
We also appreciate that Betty Snyder was there every night with ice and
coordinating the beverages. The Schafer sisters coordinated the serving of
the desserts.
There were a total of 24
volunteers in the kitchen and as servers.
SET VOLUNTEERS:
The furniture for the set was constructed at Scott Weavers and was painted
at church. The rest of the set was built at the church under the design
and direction of Mark Suffron. Most of the cast members helped with the
painting and construction, with the addition of Andy and Cal McClure
assisting. We were still working on completing the set just a day before
our dress rehearsal.
COSTUMES:
Patti Logan did a wonderful job (again) getting us outfitted in 40's
clothing. She coordinated the costumes and had assistance from cast and
volunteers to complete each ensemble. She had the assistance of Joanna
Brooks and Nancy Pearsall with some of the costumes. Betty Snyder was able
to find hats, gloves and suspenders for the cast.
TABLE DECORATIONS AND HOST:
Gigi Mawer came up with the creative centerpieces. They were hats from the
40's with flowers, battery operated votives, flowers and dice to roll.
Gigi and Bob Mawer also greeted and seated our guests each night. WE had
14 table servers. Becky Spencer was responsible for seating assignments.
THANK YOU TO THE
LEADERSHIP:
Scott Weaver for sharing your talents to research and write this wonderful
play; Mark Suffron and Shannon Spencer for directing.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
The cast still needs to have their wrap-up party to view a taping of the
performance and provide feedback for next year.
Thank you to all who
purchased tickets and supported the production!
