It was a special trip back to the
1940s! We joined the live Christmas radio broadcast of "The St. Paul's
Peppermint Stix Variety Hour" featuring Wayne Whitten's FBC Singers (our
Chancel Choir). Special guests included the Bell Choir, Children's
Ministry, Soloists and special appearances by Super
Christian and Howie. It was a great evening of fun, music and fellowship
for ALL AGES.
Christmas Potluck & Program
December 14, 2003

(A Christmas Comedy)
featuring
The First Baptist Church Chancel Choir
and presented by the
Music, Arts and Drama Board
"This Just In...From Bethlehem"
featured many members of our congregation and our own First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo Chancel Choir.
Our story was set in our own sanctuary as our Chancel Choir presents a music program on fictional television station FBC-TV. However, the show
was continually interrupted by news bulletins concerning some strange occurrences in Bethlehem.
FBC-TV reporters fanned out across Bethlehem to get the latest on the miraculous events.
The Three Wise Guys were interviewed as they traveled to Bethlehem. FBC-TV's investigative reporter
confronted the Innkeeper to find out why he failed to allow Mary and Joseph stay in a room in the inn.
Children were interviewed who had just seen the Savior and wanted to tell everyone the Good News.
One skeptical person found the reality of Christmas and the real 'reason for the
season' through the events of the evening.
It was an evening of fun, music and the excitement of the Christmas season as we presented "This Just In...From Bethlehem."

Thanks to All Who Made this
a Great Success!
The following is a letter from a visitor received by one of our members following the Christmas Potluck & Drama & Choir Program, Sunday, December 15th. I thought it
beautifully expressed her appreciation - David Andersen.
Dearest Cheryl,
I don’t know how to tell you how very much last evenings Christmas celebration with you and your wonderful family at First Baptist Church meant to me. Now I have the true Christmas spirit which I completely lacked last year.
The banquet quality potluck highlighted by that lavish dessert buffet was fabulous. I only mention this first because that was the way we participated in the spectacular evening.
The music was delightful. I loved it. Undoubtedly some from this talented group will someday become famous in show business.
I marvel at how many aspects of the entertainment business were used in a professional manner from “God’s Glory.” Using the dialogue of an original plot (play within a play) written by your own church people fascinated me. It was comic, and entertaining yet held to the religious significance of “Jesus’ birth.”
The music took care of “that.” It was “wonderful.”
Thank you for bringing Christmas to fill my heart.
With love,
Mary
