Children & Youth Food Pantry
Won't you
please consider a donation to the 'Children & Youth Food Pantry?'
We would appreciated donations of snacks, beverages and dry mixes (cake,
cookies, brownies, pizza, etc.). This pantry is exclusively used for
the COOL (Children) and BYF (Youth) groups during their get-togethers.
A box is located in the back hallway by the associate pastor's office to
accept your donations.
Children's Talk
Each Sunday, the children of First Baptist are led in a Children's
Talk. These are short talks relevant to their lives and the life of
the church. This allows are children to learn an important Biblical or
moral lesson and to participate in our worship services in an active way.
Our children are an important part of our ministry at First
Baptist. They are involved through our "Children Of
Our Lord" (COOL) program and each King' Klub on each
Sunday.
Help Your Child Experience Worship
- Come anticipating meaningful, participatory worship.
- Get a worship bulletin for your child.
- Choose a seat close to the front or an aisle so your child can see. Or let your child decide where to sit.
- Before the service begins, help your child locate and bookmark the hymns and scripture readings.
- Mark unison or responsive readings in the bulletin with an arrow.
- Number the parts of the order of service and suggest your child check them off as the service proceeds.
- Assist your child in singing the hymns. Feel free to sit during the hymns if it will help you assist your child. Remember, participation is the goal, not perfection.
- Encourage your child to give an offering, no matter what the amount.
- Encourage your children to greet others before and after the service (and during the “passing of the peace” if that is a practice in your congregation).
