Chicken Barbeque 2001 Report
It was a day of unparalleled community and church. The parking lot was filled almost all day. In addition to those who have given years and years to this project, many new volunteers from the church helped our in a wide variety of ways.
1,100 chicken dinners were served and about $4,300 was raised for the church. This is a new record. In addition to the profit, however, what is even more important was the sense of community that was realized, both within and outside the church. We needed this break. We needed this time together. It was a reminder for all of us of the importance and simple pleasure of participating in community.
Again, we express our deep gratitude to Dave Smith who continues to provide leadership for this terrific project that provides enjoyment and fellowship for so many.
